Meaning: Marzo has origins from french, meaning 'borderlands' or 'outcast' but also homophone to the Italian month of March. Also Italian is Ross, drived from Rosso, red.

Inspired By: March Hare

Colour: Maroon

Role: While technically second in command, Vice Principal Ross, it's almost always him taking the reigns. He's serious about Arcadia and serious about training fully fledged fighters. He is fully immersed in their Hunter and Weapons training, gruelling physical education and refuses to mollycoddle anyone.

Species: Ross is a faunus that takes on the features of a European Hare, with tall ragged ears poking beneath a rough maroon turning grey shag. His nose is somewhat hare like, constantly twitching in distaste at some passing student and a mustache you could lose a child in. His skin is a dark olive and twisted with many years of scars.

Personality: Mr Ross is a veteran of Ambrose's darker past shown by ragged, tattered faunus ears, two missing fingers and a jagged front incisors. His battle honed body is jittery and fast to react to any noise that may threaten. Although he tries not to let it through, it's clear that he still holds his human prejudices close to his heart with a sneering, snappy lack of trust. Maddox appears to be the only, if reluctant, exception. It is also suggested that somewhere in the world he has a daughter.

Ross essentially runs Arcadia and takes responsibility for the students training. He is unsympathetic to tragic backstories and unfair advantages, that's life and the world beyond their grotto is cruel and unforgiving. It is his job to prepare them for it.

He rides the students, pushing them to try harder every day. If he thinks you're slacking he will pull you aside for 'private training' which essentially means more pushups than sweat pores all day long. If you are truly 'unequipped' to deal with a Hunter's lifestyle he will 'not waste resources' on someone not 100% committed and shows them the door. Arcadia isn't an easy ride, a roof over your head and a chance to slack off. Arcadia has a goal and are fighting for a cause; Faunus respect and equality.

If you can't be a good example than he will make you a terrible warning.

Mr Ross is in close ties with Pride; a group of 'graduated' Faunus patrolling beyond the Firewall and protecting Ambrose.

Weapon: Mr. Ross wields a large Kinetic Energy Torpedo Launcher named Ire Blitz. This weapon is built strong, and to the unobservant would look a lot like somebody simply tore a small woodstove out of a wall, and took a good chunk of the smokestack with it. That said, this weapon is actually quite well built, even if it is a bit unwieldy to those without proper strength. In its ranged mode the Ire Blitz is a large, shoulder-fired weapon built for dishing as much pain in as little time as possible.

The ammunition it uses is typically a sizeable cannister of dust, which allows for multiple high-energy projectiles to be fired from a single canister. Even though it is designed to work with Dust primarily, it can also use traditional gunpowder-and-lead explosive shells. While the Ire Blitz's rate of fire plummets using such shells, they excel at punching holes through tough grimm-armor. In melee form, the heavy receiver assembly unhooks from the barrel, although it stays connected by a short chain. This allows Blitz Ire to be used as a heavy, two-handed flail for close encounters.
