Notes: Arlyn! Chaosbrinker went to so much effort to get his OC Arcadia ready, I had to draw him, especially when I saw he already had given him a burl!

Origin & Influences:  Arlyn, from the cornish origin, means Water Battle there is also the celtic meaning of Oath. And Abellio: Celtic name of a god of apple trees, meaning "green growing one." He is heavily influenced by Sobek, Egyptian god, from his nature of a fighter to his protective nature, his backstory isnt based so much on Sobeks appearances in mythos.

Symbol: His symbol are a couple of scales growing and forming.

Species:  Cuvier's dwarf caiman, a sub species of crocodiles. A thing he has inherited from the Cuvier Dwarf Caiman is his extra hard and protective skin on the back and front of his body, he has these scales on both his back and his chest and belly which are a dark green in color. His crocodilian senses include a highly evolved sense of smell which helps him in a lot of ways, but it becomes a problem making him nauseous in places that have a too strong smell that he isn't accustomed to. He also has better night vision and the utility of the extra eyelid, enabling him to see underwater. One down side for him would be his sensitivity to temperature, which quickly fatigues him, slowing his reactions, making him feel nauseous if he stays in that temperature too long. He tries to wet himself with water dust to lower his temperature.

Appearance: Arlyn stays at about five foot eight inches with tan olive skin and has a lean built from the work he had to do within his household, from helping with the farm to gathering, and cutting, wood. He has dark brunette hair that is in a small cut, with the longest tips of his hair being about shoulder height. He has green eyes that look more like those of a crocodile. He also has back spikes that crocodiles do, with his starting just above the waist line and accompanying the spine on both sides, being two lines of these spikes on each side, though these spikes go up the neck and end somewhere on his head.
He uses a button up black shirt under an armor plate which is white with golden green highlights on the edges, it covers his chest, mostly, and both his shoulders down to his forearm, he uses a gauntlet that covers the rest of his arm on his dominant right arm, which is the one he normally uses to block attacks in fights. He uses a dark grey jeans, he also uses combat plate boots made of metal and with the same color theme of his chest armor. He uses this armor in most of his body for his combat style that mostly entails hitting hard and not being very good at dodging.

Personality:  Arlyn is a theatrical kind of faunus, he wears his heart on his sleeve and loves to make a big deal out of everything. From his carefully chosen appearance to his weapon and fighting style, he loves to make a splash. He has been this way since anyone can remember, but the truth is that after a play when he was six he loved the limelight so he started doing everything possible to him to stay there. Some common things you might find Arlyn doing is talking about himself and things he likes, be it with a stranger where he will exaggerate even more than usual or with someone he already knows, but unless the conversation revolves around his interests his attention quickly drifts away.

For his love of the spotlight he has a certain way of carrying himself in social situations. He loves to make a big entrance especially if its somewhere he hasn't been before completely oblivious to the annoyance of others following behind him. He is fantastic at making people feel good about themselves, and about him in turn. He will retell every story a million times especially his accomplishments until his friends can tell it themselves. Those without patience quickly grow weary of his drama queen attitude and start looking for exits.

He does however have a very different attitude when things don't go his way, be it people not listening to him or just when people don't like things he has spent a long time preparing, quickly losing his temper and wanting nothing but end the conversation and show off his famous cold shoulder until he has calmed down. He hates when others disagree and is terrible to argue with, he won't give you half a second to state your point and will argue often to be contrary. Its only if he likes you will he give you a chance and even if he end up agreeing it was clearly his opinion all along. He's an enthusiastic flirt with guys and girls alike but is rarely successful but that doesn't mean they don't enjoy the attention, the praise and often handmade presents delivered with a charming smile. He's also overprotective of his friends and tends to hover if he thinks something isn't right or too dangerous but underlying that are the second intentions that in helping, he'll get more praise and attention for a job well done.

Arlyn is a different person on the battlefield. He's still a show off- he's been seen actually waiting to appear at the last second to save others and being much more theatrical and choreographed than expected in a melee, but there's definitely much more purpose. He moves rhythmically, almost dancing and instinctively feeling when to attack and when to defend, especially if he sees others in harms way. If he is hurt, he's melodramatic, delivering a flowery speech about how he has become a burden to them, and how he will hold off their enemies to give them time to escape. His friends know to give him a smack on the head and tell him to follow them already. Though his demeanor change completely when someone else is injured, he will first freak out for a couple seconds, and then "like a true gentleman" carry the person on his arms back, even if the injury was something as small as a cut on the arm or a bruise on the hand. One of the best things about having him on your side is his love to make grand actions, be it seemly came from nothing to save you from a grimm or just creating Scales in front of you to protect you, you always have some sort of protection to expect from him. That though also is his worst part, he will always be unpredictable, sometimes even coming in the line of fire of someone elses attack and getting injured through it.

Unfortunately he dances to the beat of his own drum and doesn't follow orders very well, preferring to strike out alone so he can grab more of the glory for himself. He only listens if its someone he trusts and likes, but still likes to give those orders his own twist to make them 'more awesome'. He has no idea how to be a leader, mostly choosing to act independently or do twist and order to be more 'his style'.

Fighting grimm is a dream come true, since he's able to overcome beasts of legend and add more stories to his repertoire especially with his own flourish regardless of what really happened, normally with more enemies and impossible recoveries happening left and right. He actually prefers to fight humans, be it for the fact they are easy to read or that he can defeat someone he will still be around to rub their loss in their face.

Drama and acting come naturally to him, although he hasn't officially been in a play for some time but his artistic nature comes out in other ways. He loves wood carving and whittling of anything that takes his fancy; people, places and grimms alike, and when he starts doing so he wont stop until he is happy with his creation. He loves to show people his creations, always expecting glowing reviews but a simple compliment has exactly the same effect. Another thing about him is while he expresses his emotions in pretty public ways he also loves to use his hands while talks, making poses and things like that.

Backstory: Arlyn, born from a Hunter mother and a fisherman father, is the oldest son of the family given he only has a younger sister, Mesi. He lived the entirety of his younger year in his family's farm near the seaside, on one of the satellite city's near Ambrose. Helping with simple things such as cutting wood and attending the fields he got used to develop a really strong and defined muscles.

He trained with his mother in times between missions, from aura control to combat training with various weapons, all made of wood though. His mother always said "If I'm not able to protect you and your sister the job is up to you Arlyn."The reason was that although he tried, his father was never any good in combat, one of life's natural co-ordinators.

He lost his mother in the week that followed his twelfth birthday, dying protecting an old rich human couple. The Gulmohar family line that insisted in rewarding the family of their savior after the incident but never moved their hands to help or contact his family after.
Though it was short lived, the money they gave his family helped to pay for the education of Arlyn and Mesi. He now a 17 year-old-boy passes the days helping his father, who doesn't want to let him go in fear of losing him as well, and sister who constantly makes plans with him to travel to other places and to live her life in other countries, running free like the waters of the ocean. He passes most of his days imaging taking the same job as his mother once had and helping people, looking good while doing so.

Relationships: Arlyn had many friends in school though he doesn’t keep in contact with them anymore. He loves to spend time with his sister doing all sorts of things, from simply carving things together to teasing the hell out of her. He also quite enjoys spending time with his father though he takes every opportunity he gets to stray away from the farm and either explore the nearby woods or spend some time on cloud gazing

Playing Notes: Arlyn wears his heart on his sleeve, so he will show his emotions quite directly, if he does not know your character he will most likely throw at least one or two pickup lines, both for his personality and for the fact he likes to do so. He can and most likely will come off as quite exaggerate and dramatic, even if he is simple doing what his heart tells him to.

Hunting

Base Weapon:  A pair of axes he used for various thing in the farm.

Evolved Weapon: His evolved would still be a pair of axes though they would have dust container in them, and he would use water earth and electric dust types. They can also combine into an longed pole weapon with a crescent shaped blade on the end of the pole, the name of his weapon would be Styx Cutter. They can with the earth dust create shockwaves as he hits a person or the ground throwing them off balance, with the use of the water dust he can elongate the reach of his axes though he is also able to "shoot" the water on his targets with great force, which he has been known to use the recoil of this shoot to throw himself on his opponents or away from them, and finally the lighting dust allows his weapons to electrify people which he ues after the water dust to hit a wider hanging quicker and they have seemed to make him move faster as well.

Aura and Semblance:  His aura glows a deep blueish-green color, his semblance on the other hand consists of the ability to make a exoskeletons being made of his aura and being ethereal and not lasting too long without the use of some type of dust, which defends him from incoming attacks, or as an attack in itself since he can make a certain part of it growing larger, for example he can grow his "maw" to bite and squash enemies inside. Though most of the uses he has for it are protecting him, making he soak up more damage than would be originally possible, his Scales has a couple of different uses depending on what part of this exoskeletons he grows more, he can grow a thicker part on his hand which enable him to land more powerful hits, the biggest downside to using his semblance is the power cost, making him get tired after about 15 minutes of continued usage of his semblance. He discovered his semblance in a training session with his mother as it activated saving him from a falling tree as a crocodile head shape formed around him and dissipated after he got out from under it.

Fighting Style:  His fighting style consists of using his natural resilience in together with his semblance to be able to "absorb" the hits he take and using the opening his enemies leave to strike, at least that is how someone would describe it, though he has no set way to do it he mostly follows his instincts attacking every opening he sees and taking strikes head on to make these opening happen.
