Whooot! I rule! Well no, but isn't this awesome! I suck at armor, and look at it! Er, yeah, sucks and looks nothing like Spartan armor but I'm very proud of it.

I've spent the last week moping how I couldn't draw armor and I'd never be able to draw the scene I've always wanted (Kidd in armor sans helmet looking like a rabid Jack Russel Terrier in front, standing behind her Corporal Morris looking twitchy and spastic and behind him, the tall broadshouldered black Mamma Cooke cocking a rocket launcher with a look that says 'The first one of yo's to say Yo Mamma gets a free asswhooping with their Unhappy meal!', but this picture kinda gives me hope that one day I can.

I went rooting through my disk of old lineart, pulled this out and what the hey! I've been on such a Red vs Blue kick since I found it again about two months ago, quoting like mad even though none of my real life mates get it. I'm an OC-aholic so I had to give it a burl. I've been forcing myself not to write another fanfiction, but I still like to think of it while I spend my day peering down a microscope...

And yes, I'm very aware of Reconstruction, and even more aware that I can't watch it yet. So rather than buggerising the canon I would just make it an AU, because I know Blood Gulch Chronicles like the back of my hand...

The Story
Alternate Universe: Six months after the Pelican holding Tex, Junior and O'Malley exploded in a fiery blaze before escaping into slipspace, Church's team still looks wistfully up into the wild blue yonder thinking of the ones they hold dear...er-ish?

Meanwhile Sarge of Team Red has become increasingly erratic and obsessed with contacting Red Command even though the rest of the team, heck everyone in Blood Gulch, knows they were manipulated by the Freelancer organisation. Now that they are no longer useful they are being left to rot. Something is blocking communications and their food stores are slowly dwindling (Griff 'Nooooo!' ) - they need to leave the planet.

Tucker mentions that he saw a small Covenant vessel and that he's going to look for Junior and Church agrees to see him off. Blue Team treks down to the caves to help him find it in the vast catacombs that lie beneath Blood Gulch and Simmons- who at Sarge's orders has manned Vic's abandoned observation station day and night- sees the Blues on the moves and rallies the Reds. They go charging around the tunnels, completely fail to find Tucker's little Phantom but instead find a Covenant DX-class Dropship or 'Spirit'. After tense negotiations, threats and Dibbs wars, the two teams decide to leave together. However after escaping the stratosphere they find UNSC Prowler trapped in orbit with only two members still alive and one still in stasis after a Flood-Infected Covenant encounter.

First is Corporal Mario Morris, once a hotshot navigator however after the attack he has become severely paranoid with gawdawful memory but is currently in cryosleep after a suspected infection. The second survivor was Charlene 'Mamma' Cooke, a towering amazonian goddess who served as the ship's Chef and lastly this shiela, Davina Kidd.

Turns out, after plotting a random vector the Ally-Oh-Azimuth came out of slipspace just as O'Malley's Pelecan went in leading to swapping of co-ordinates. Now the crew of the Ally-Oh-Azimuth are stuck on a Halo Installation trying to stop O'Malley and his hostages from reaching High Charity otherwise the evil AI will have control of the most powerful army in the galaxy! Bwahahahaha!

Nicknames: The Labrat

Nationality: Australian, so the show can finally have that crappy over-the-top Aussie accent with god awful slang they keep trying for!

Rank: None. Kidd has always wanted to join the UNSC to fight the good fight just like her father, but would you believe it even in desperate times the UNSC has a height requirement and Kidd failed miserably. After several unsuccessful attempts she decided to find a different way into the army, and four years later she wound up as a microbiologist on the UNSC Prowler Ally-Oh-Azimuth.

Armor: The Flood attack on their ship was just her chance to prove herself, but she didn't. The viridian green Spartan Suit (500 years later a Spartan Suit has been developed for the average Shmoe and various green hues are the UNSC standard) she stole from the hangers is several sizes too big (not that you can see that in the picture) making her absolutely useless in a fight, tripping, scampering and wobbling all over the place. This is the first feminine Spartan suit they've seen although the chest cavity is highly optimistic in Kidd's respect.

Personality: Kidd is desperate to show her mettle as a soldier, so spends much of her time picking fights with both Reds, Blues and the other Greens as if that could somehow make up for it. She's reckless, argumentive and insists on being in every battle but requires more protection than she's worth. She has the personality of a small yappy dog you would love to kick but know the guilt wouldn't be worth it.

Her biggest rival is Simmons. Firstly because she's hoping if she proves herself to a superior officier he might put in a good word for her with the higher ups.

Secondly because we all know when two intellectuals meet there's first subtle and then increasingly snide banter as they argue which school of thought is more useful to society/has a greater degree of difficulty/the best- as if unconciously competing for university grants... (Or at least that's what its like at the Symposiums I've been to.)

Aww, wish I could write it but its been years since I played Halo and I have no military vocabulary. I'd love to interact with the funniest characters I've found in a long time. It's one of those series where it's so hard to pick a favourite! Talk about addicted! Sarge, Griff, Church... and of course Simmons- Red til Dead!
